1. Overview

HomeCam (“the app”) repurposes a spare smartphone as a CCTV camera. The app does not store or transmit your video or audio on our own servers.

2. Information We Collect and Process

2.1 Video and audio (not stored on servers)

Camera-mode video is stored only on that device's local storage (auto-deleted after a default of 2 days) or on your own iCloud (iOS). Live video and audio are sent directly between devices with encryption (P2P, WebRTC/DTLS-SRTP) and never pass through or are stored on the developer's servers.

2.2 Live-connection signaling (metadata, not stored)

To establish the P2P connection, a lightweight signaling server briefly relays the connection code and negotiation messages (SDP/ICE). These contain no video, audio, or personal identifiers and are not stored. If a direct connection isn't possible, a TURN server only relays the encrypted media without decrypting or storing it.

2.3 Motion push alert information (optional)

If you enable motion alerts, our alert relay stores the viewer phone's push token (APNs/FCM), platform, language setting, app environment, and last registration time. Tokens are stored by a hashed room derived from the connection code; the original code is not stored. Push tokens are used only to deliver motion alerts and expire after up to 90 days without renewal. Motion alerts include only the camera name and event time signal; video, images, and location are never sent to the alert server.

2.4 Permissions

2.5 Purchases (optional)

In-app purchases (one-time Pro) are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information.

3. What We Don't Collect

We do not collect location tracking, advertising identifiers, or behavioral analytics, and we include no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Local recordings are auto-deleted after the retention period (default 2 days), and local data is removed when you delete the app. iCloud data can be managed and deleted directly from your Apple account. Push tokens expire from the alert relay after up to 90 days without renewal, and the app requests unregister when you delete a saved camera or turn off motion alerts.

5. Third Parties

We do not provide your video or audio to third parties. iCloud storage follows the Apple Privacy Policy.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
